July 21st

Before Rachel came, I prayed to God telling him no matter what I was just doing my friend, Rachel, a favor and no matter how convincing she was, I wasn't falling for it (to become a consultant). Well let's just say God has a funny sense of humor and doesn't like being told what to do (as if I didn't already know).

Oh, the night before I call Rachel telling her that there weren't a lot of people coming and asked her if she wanted to cancel because of it. She was super friendly and said, "No girl, that's fine!, I don't care if it's just you and me!" Granted, she even drove a good hour to get to my house! I was shocked by her reply but it felt good to know she cared about me and not just about her making money.

She arrived and had just a few things to set up, not too difficult really at all. My friends started showing up too. All three of them, haha. One of which brought a friend with her so it made 4. Rachel pampered us with facials and foot soaks and all the while ( I am reminding myself that I am not interested in anything past being a host), listening to her success in this business. She started November 2011 and by July 2012, was earning more income than I had been ever in one month! And the craziest thing is it just keeps climbing ( so she gets a raise every month haha).

By the end of the presentation, all of my friend's were hooked on what the products had to offer, whether it was better skin, better health, better hair, or a better life with better income, and freedom in work hours.  I know not every spa presentation turns out like mine did but it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen! All four of my friends wanted to host and 3 of them wanted to become a consultant themselves! How could I not consider it?! The investment was so small and the benefits from her testimony as well as from the products made it that much more realistic for the success it could bring.

So, with the investment being so small, I decided to go for it!

Before July 21st, 2012

Before I tell you about July 21st, I must tell you little background history of it all. I have a B.A. in American Sign Language and have been interpreting for over 5 years now.  My husband and I have been married less than a year ( Oct. 8,2011). Married life is wonderful but with our standard income living, we would have a difficult time raising a child if we were to become pregnant.
      On a different note, I would also like to mention that in the past I have been an independent consultant with a networking company and it left a very unsatisfying feeling for me. I was by no means interested in doing something like it again and was content with my limited income potential to keep from going down that road again.
   My friend/aquaintance from CharlotteOne had sent a facebook text to me one day asking me to call her. When I did, it left me at her voicemail. Her voicemail message was something like this, " Hi this is Rachel with Arbonne International, please leave me a message ,....." When I heard, with Arbonne, I thought, oh no! That's what she's going to ask me.. to do a party for her! Little did she know at the time, I intentionally played phone tag with her to avoid the dreaded question asking me to host for her. In my mind, Arbonne was just some expensive name brand company and in order for me to get any products, I was going to have to convince my friends to buy something expensive.

Long story short, she convinced me to host a spa date but enticed me with $300 in free products without selling a thing. ( Later I found out, she took a hit/investment/chance on me). I was "sold" so I did it.
